SAM Data Import

Data Import

Two ways to
move your data

SAM doesn't necessarily have import built in.
We have templates that can get retrieved from SAM but the AI import tools are external and only available to ASA Software.

Route one

You run the import

Your team prepares and loads the data using SAM's importer and the supplied templates. We support you through it, but the work and the pace are yours.

  • The lower cost route, and your team learns the data model as it goes
  • You decide what is worth bringing across and what is not
  • ASA Software supports you throughout

Best where you have people available and time to spend

Route two

We run the import

ASA Software does the majority of the loading, using our own tailored AI tooling to get your existing records into shape. You stay involved, but the effort sits with us.

  • Quoted up front as a one-off service
  • Our AI tooling handles the reshaping of messy exports
  • Your team's time goes into checking, not typing

What moves the date: data quality, volume, your people, how fast questions come back, and which route you choose

Customer · Global Airways, South Africa

Four A320s, everything across in two weeks

All of their data, including the maintenance programme, was loaded inside two weeks. Communication between the teams was excellent.

“The onboarding and support team are the best I have ever encountered. Very hard to find a team as proactive as ASA Software.”

How a load runs

Whichever route you choose, the same importer and the same two templates do the work. What changes is who does which step, and where the checking happens.

Route one · You run the import

  1. 1

    Export

Your data out of your current system, as Excel.

  2. 2

    Learn the mapping

We train your team in the shape the importer expects.

  3. 3

    Map

Your team maps the data as well as it can.

  4. 4

    We audit the mapping

We check the mapped workbook before anything is loaded.

  5. 5

    Import

Your team runs the import into SAM.

  6. 6

    Validate

Your team audits the loaded data in SAM.

Route two · We run the import

  1. 1

    Export

Your data out of your current system, as Excel.

  2. 2

    We map it

Using our own AI tooling, asking you where only you can answer.

  3. 3

    Preview

We show you what will be created before anything is written.

  4. 4

    Import

Once you approve it, we load it into SAM.

  5. 5

    Validate

Your team audits the finished transfer.

Either way, we set up your reports

As part of onboarding we build the first set of reports you will actually use, so the system is useful on the day it goes live.

Training runs alongside the load

Your team does not wait for the data to land before learning SAM. Training runs while the import is in progress, so people can work the day it goes live.
